Serena is proud to be a founding partner of Carson Chousky Lein LLP together with her former mentor, Georgina Carson. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2007 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) followed by a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2010.
Since her call to the Ontario Bar in 2011, Serena has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. Serena has extensive experience in family law, including high conflict parenting disputes and complex property and support matters.
Serena’s approach is client-centered and tailored to each unique situation. She engages in co-operative negotiations to craft creative agreements and reach reasonable settlements out of court. When appropriate, Serena engages in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including mediation and/or arbitration to resolve family law disputes in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. When litigation is necessary, Serena uses her effective advocacy skills appearing at all levels of Court in Ontario.
Serena is compassionate, practical, and hardworking. She devotes her considerable expertise to achieving desirable outcomes. Serena has contributed to family law publications and professional development programs and keeps current with the constantly evolving field of family law.
