Igor Ellyn is an experienced advocate, chartered arbitrator, mediator and bar leader, who specializes in commercial disputes, including corporate and contract law, shareholder and oppression remedy cases, real estate disputes, commercial leasing disputes, defamation and anti-SLAPP cases. He has appeared as counsel in complex matters in the Superior Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada and internationally over more than 40 years. He also appeared as counsel at complex arbitrations. As a Chartered Arbitrator of commercial disputes, he is a member of five arbitration panels, including ICC Canada, ICDR, ADR Chambers International, ADRIC and BIAC. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Toronto Chapter and a co-chair of its annual Symposium on Arbitration in Canada. Mr. Ellyn is past president of the Ontario Bar Association and a recipient of the Law Society Bicentennial Award of Merit.
