Eric Gillespie practices civil litigation and administrative law with an emphasis on environmental issues. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court and Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Court of Appeal and in the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as courts in other Provinces. Eric also appears regularly before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Environmental Review Tribunal and other administrative law bodies in Ontario and elsewhere.
Eric has been involved in many precedent setting cases, including several large-scale class actions, municipal election decisions and numerous prosecutions.
Eric graduated with Distinction from the University of Western Ontario Law School and received the Cassels Brock Practice Skills Award. Before being called to the Bar in 1996, he summered and articled with a large downtown Toronto law firm. He also articled in part with the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA).
He has served in Executive positions for the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), is an editor of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Journal and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
