Georgina Carson is a senior family law lawyer with degrees from Queen’s University (BAH) and the University of Toronto (LLB), Georgina has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since being called to the Ontario Bar in 1991.
Georgina’s solutions-based approach helps clients resolve complex custody, support, property, and tax issues through cooperation, collaborative negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and at all levels of court in Ontario.
Georgina is also a member of the Minerva Group of senior family law mediators and arbitrators. With over 30 years of family law experience, Georgina is an effective and evaluative mediator and arbitrator. Georgina assists parties and counsel in reaching constructive, creative and cost-effective resolutions.
Georgina is an appointed Dispute Resolution Officer in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto; former longstanding member of the Barristers’ Advisory Group for the Law Society of Ontario; contributing author to Ontario Family Law Practice; former Chair of the Family Law Executive of the Ontario Bar Association; former panel lawyer for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer; executive editor of the original Law Society of Upper Canada’s Separation Agreement Annotated; and frequent speaker, author, and instructor at legal education programs through The Advocates’ Society, the Law Society of Ontario, Osgoode Professional Development and the Ontario Bar Association.
